Can I ask you what exactly 'sucks' with the format so I can keep working on it to improve it? I know there are a lot more options than the previous format did not have, and yes some of them are not vital so they are going to be removed, but overall I think it is a pretty solid and functional script( of course lol)

BUt, I am also open to suggestions!

This new format for Meet your Greens really sucks.  I'm leaving and will be back in a month or two to see if it works as well as the previous format did.

I used to be able to search for only profiles that had a photo.  Now I get flooded with fake pictures...Avatars...or whatever.  Not real photos.

When I open several profiles into several tabs in Firefox they grind away forever, never completing the display.

The old format was fast.  This new one is very slow.

After I read your post, I tried and I had no problems. Got just ppl with photos, zero avatars, tried to search for males and females, different ages, countries and etc. Works fine.

I do hope to see you back soon. It is kind of sad to see somebody just say 'it sucks' and go away, after all the hard work that has been put into this. The site of course still needs improvements, but it does offer quite a bit more options than before, some of them may be a little heavy on the servers so we are working here to improve performance and improve existing options. Avatars are assigned randomly based on an avatar 'library' , only to those members who are too lazy or sloppy to spend a few seconds and upload their own, but on the other hand it may help you screen out the lazy and sloppy without even looking at their profiles ;) But yes the avatar is one item that we are working on, trying to find a way to keep members 'unapproved' until they upload a 'real avatar'!

Anyway, you are welcome to check back whenever you fell like, and hopefully you will see some improvements next time!

About searching by age, that is indeed possible! In each search option [there is Simple , Adv(anced)and Quick options available] there is a 'slider' that allows you to select the age range you want to search for.

I arrived several years ago attracted by the name. As an unabashed Greenie, naturalist etc the concept appealed to me. I found a great person (not here) and came back recently looking for friends.

As regards the new format, the new one is clunkier in many ways than the old one, but more full-featured. Some of those features I'm not going to use, certainly, but others might, so I see no point in levelling criticism.

I would suggest that a clearer demarcation between those seeking romance and those seeking friends might be useful. For comparison see a site called veggieromance.com, which has the obvious dating implication in the site name, but has an option for those seeking friends, as opposed to this site which implies meeting for whatever purpose but doesn't seem (I may have missed it) to allow you to quickly make a distinction outside a text box. My suggestion would be to have options allowing you to specify which gender(s) you might like to meet for a relationship, which for penpals, and which for friends, and allow searches accordingly.

It's just a suggestion. I'm not going to clear off if it doesn't happen!

My frustration at the moment is the number of users who put up a basic profile and can't be bothered or are too inarticulate to actually say anything about themselves. This isn't a problem limited to this site by any means. I know there are people out there willing to sell themselves on looks alone, but whether I'm looking for friends or a partner I want to know about hobbies, interests, outlook and so on. Obviously that's not something out admin can do much about, but I've just been through about 25 successive profiles and found exactly none that I'd class as anywhere near complete! I think that was better in the old days. I have no idea why!

Oh, and if there's anyone reading this (any gender; any location) who enjoys hiking, camping, travel and watching wildlife, you know how to get in touch!

With regards to the 'uncompiled' profiles, we are working to make more and more fields 'mandatory' and also adding a 'profile meter' showing what percentage of the profile has actually been filled and using it as a filter option, so when searching you would be able to decide that you want to be shown profiles that are (say) at least 75% complete and so on!

I found this website by doing a Google search. One of the search results gave a list of 50 totally free dating sites. This site was one of them. So far this site seems pretty good. I'm still waiting for the scammers to take a shot at me. l

Seriously though, our scam filters are pretty good and getting better every day so you shouldn't see any of the bad guys, but if you do, make sure you report them using the 'Report User' button(s)

I found it actually years ago as a 420 friendly site. Just recently reopened profile. I take it this is a 1-2 man operation given the response time on my profile / picture approval ? POF started this same way....now has 31,000,000 members

As for your profile, there is actually mostly me here plus some tech help so yes if you submitted your pic or edited your profile in the middle of the night, it's possible you had to wait a little.
